Each year, John Knox Ranch welcomes children who need financial assistance to pay for their camp session. I want to introduce you to one of those families. Below is an excerpt from a scholarship application submitted by the camper's uncle who is also a JKR alumnus.

Sam's mother was killed in a car accident in 2022 leaving behind his 4-year-old sister, 7-year-old brother, and him. It has been an incredibly difficult time, testing all of our faith, conviction, and strength. A year later and I am in tears writing this because these kids deserve so much better. I (his uncle) spent 6 summers at JKR starting at age 8. The community and connection with God is something I have cherished all my life. 20 years later, I still sing the camp songs to my kids as lullabies! JKR is amazing and turned me into the person I am today. I hope my nephew is able to find the same thing at such a vulnerable time in his childhood.
